The
Olympic, half-painted in her service livery, in the new graving dock,
which will later be named after Harbour Commissioners chairman Robert
Thompson MP. Her immensity can be gauged by the workman walking with a
brush on the floor of the dock, 44ft below. Rail tracks underneath the
vessel enabled flat cars laden with material to run from stem to stern. |
